Look forward to an exciting, wild journey with us through the themes of the captivating story about a family, strongly influenced by religious fanaticism, through the ages, implemented with great characters, singers and instrumentalists, also a musical journey through styles and times…
Already in 2011, the highly praised first part (“The?BOOK”) of the total work of art was published, consisting of a profound, critical story about religious fanaticism by Thoralf Koß – provided with a complete storybook by the American author George Andrade – and the multi-layered musical implementation, almost in the form of a “rock Opera”, in the field of tension from art rock to progressive metal.
The second part followed in 2019 with “THE?LIE”, the hardest part of the concept both musically and lyrically.
With “THE?TRUTH” we now conclude, 15 years after work began, with the most stylistically varied part, the story about Samuel and his father, a real firework of musical ideas, exciting arrangements and a total of 12 characters/singers, including like this well-known guests such as Peter Jones (Camel, Tiger Moth Tales), Manuel Schmid (Stern Combo Meissen), Larry B. (Toxic Smile), Elisabeth Markstein (Alphaville) and musicians such as Thomas Klarmann (ARGOS). Mix and master come from Martin Schnella again.
“The?Truth” will be released on May 21, 2024 by Progressive Promotion Records not only on CD as usual – the trilogy will also be published as an elaborate “art book” in vinyl format with all 3 albums on CD as well as a complete, extensive, printed story including song lyrics become.
The pre-order starts now – of course, those who pre-order will also have the usual story-related “gimmick” for the third part.

2023 – seven steps to the green door – new lineup & new album!
Dear friends,
the last few years haven’t been easy for us musicians, and so time hasn’t stood still at ssttgd either.
In the last 3 years, wonderful new music has been created together with guitarist Martin Fankhänel and our long-time singer, which we will finally be able to present to you in 2023. Both have recently decided to turn to new projects. We wish you all the best!
ssttgd now presents itself with “returnees” in their positions – we are happy to present you the two “old” newcomers in the family:
Andreas “Eddy” Gemeinhardt ( co-founder of the band and significantly involved in the first 3 albums of the band ) and Sören Flechsig, who reinforced the band live in 2016-2017, are now part of the team. We are happy!

Exciting news: new bass player!
Today we finally have some really great news for you:
seven steps to the green door welcome a new addition to the bass, who will strengthen the band live and in the studio in the future and bring them forward.
This is none other than Robert Brenner long-time band colleague of Marek at Toxic Smile and Stern Combo Meißen ), who recently released his solo album “Nocalize” (check: (https://robertbassbrenner.bandcamp.com/) releases) and has already recorded most of the bass tracks for the upcoming new ssttgd album “The? Truth”.

Dear friends and fans of the band, Today we have an announcement that we hadn’t planned on – but in these difficult times unforeseen events are inevitable.
Unfortunately we have to inform you that the release of The? Truth – the third and final part of the? Book trilogy will probably be delayed again. Although almost all instrumental recordings have now been completed, work on the lyric concept and the vocal recordings have been delayed due to health and private incidents in the band’s environment.
The album will therefore unfortunately not be released this year, we will of course keep you up to date.
And of course we will use the time creatively and work on new songs!
